Time to get lei'd ...

Aloha - I'm off to Hawaii. With winter just around the corner I was in need of some rays of sun to keep me going through til we can head back to the beach again.
We're staying in Waikiki so if anyone has any great shopping/restaurant tips, please let me know.

Big Brother's little nude scandal ...

It's been on TV for 48 hours - and already we've got a porn scandal from one of the Big Brother '08 contestants.
Yep Rema, the one metre tall (or should that be short) belly dancer has turned up on some vertically-challenged porn site.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww.
BB has taken a whole new direction this year and already it's promising to be a corker.
Damn that reality TV - it always sucks me in.

Still 'bleeding' singing that song ...

Bo and I were invited to the Sony BMG Leona Lewis showcase at the MCA in Sydney last night.
It was a fairly swanky affair (apart from the foul-smelling mini hamburgers)and I was thrilled to walk the red carper right after Andrew G from Australian Idol, and to spot Aussie icon Molly Meldrum (complete with hat) inside.

Leona Lewis is a huge deal for Sony, with her record-breaking album and single sales in the US, massive success in the UK and now in Australia.
She sang four songs for us and vocally she was pretty amazing. Top marks to that girl from the X-Factor.
She seemed genuinely humbled by the hoop-la surrounding her first trip down under.
It was a great night :-)

A trip down memory lane ...

I landed tickets to see Matchbox 20 through work.
I know, I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I loved them 10 years ago when I first came to Australia. Their songs seemd to blare from every radio and walkman(years before iPods were even thought of) and for some reason totally resonated with me.
Fast-forward ten years, and they're on a greatest hits tour. Madness.
The show was pretty good.
I had seen them with Jen and Ru in Hammersmith in 2001 and I had officially described it as my best live show experience. They were outstanding.
The 2008 Matchbox 20 is still a great band but I wasn't blown away.
Still love their albums, though.

Here she is ... the sunshine of my life

I've not blogged about my beautiful niece Charlotte in ages - mainly because she has her own blog here but this pic is just too cute not to share.

She's mad about Dora The Explorer and In The Night Garden at the mo, as well as her Teletubbies and is a real singer and dancer,

She's a couple of months short of her second birthday and chats away to me on the phone these days which is both wonderful and heartbreaking.
She's such a clever girl.

Public record to safeguard the future ...
