Keeping ourselves amused...

Home at last...

Just a quick update as I'm runnung to catch a flight to Plymouth for my sister's birthday...
Bo is finally home after a flight delay that saw her being put up in one of the swankier Hong Kong hotels until Cathay Pacific could get her on a connecting flight to Sydney. She's home safe and sound, very tired and faced with a power cut! Elvis was pleased to see her, although appears to have forgotten how to sit and shake paws... little monkey.

Great news from Spain is that Mum was released from hospital the night before Bo left. Already she's come on a treat - her appetite is ferocious and she sounds much stronger than she has in recent weeks. She's still very sick, but I'd really like to think she's turned a corner.

In view of Mum's health, I am now not returning to Australia until Sept 23rd. After the scare we've had the ongoing treatment she is receiving, I'd rather be on this side of the world for as long as I can. But thats as long as I can stay... I douby Elvie would forgive me after that!!!

I'll update this retrospectively when I get upload some more pics. Sorry it hasn't turned out to be the holidayblog we'd planned...

Cheers, Lady Gould xxx

Life at Club Tropicana... but no drinks in sight :-)

Rob, Claire and Rob... Ravenscourt Park, July 2006

Hello hello,
Am up late changing my plane tickets for the umpteenth time and doing a bit of internet banking and realised we´ve been pretty slack with this blog. Needs must and all, but we have been out and about a bit, and will continue to do so until the end of Bo´s trip.

Dad took us to this amazing Chinese restaurant with a twist... the twist being you select all the food you want, all the ingredients etc from this HUGE buffet selection, hand it to the chefs and they´ll cook it up for you. Whatever you want, as much as you want... no quesestions asked. We´ve had Peking Duck until its coming out of our ears, and all for €8.50pp. We´ve ben twice in three days - LOL.

We´ve a planned shopping trip tomorrow to a huge H&M and Zara (Bo will go nuts for sure...) and hopefully I can treat her to a beachside Paella at Torrevjeca early next week. Despite the dramas we are trying to make the most of our time in the sun. I´ve also had the realisation that since I have extended my ticket to mid Sept, I am now stuck with the same clothes until then. Boo. So much for travelling light.

Livin´la Vida Loca in the Costa Blanca...

Bo says:Well life is a little hard getting used to doing absolutely nothing. Wake up, put bathers on, eat breakfast outside and then into the pool. I have to say that my tan is a nice chocolate brown and we are so relaxed that we can´t be bothered to take any pictures. I know, how bloody annoying but I will try. Maybe tomorrow or the next day......
I made some new friends and not sure what it is but I have the linx effect. I am a chick magnet... to three, four-legged creatures. Jackson, Chica and adorable Charlie Brown(aka fatty boomba) love me.

They accompany us in walks in the pine forest every evening and protect us from Tarzan, the man who lives there.
What I am finding a little hard to grasp is the eating so late at night. We had dinner at 11:30pm last night - not good for the waist line. So watch out if you don´t recognise me when I get back... ;+)
Claire says: Its lovely to be in Spain and have the chance to relax. Mum is still very sick, and not the easiest patient, but Dad is doing all he can, and Bo in turn is keeping my Dad fed and amused!
Not sure what this means for the rest of my trip - will wait until early next week to see how Mum is doing before I make a decision, but thank to all for their emails and good wishes for Mum.
Will update some tan-watch pics soon. We´re looking GOOD...

Hola!

We´re finally in Spain after a hectic few days in the UK.
Weather is scorchio and we´re trying our best to chill out and cheer Mum up - she´s confined to lying down at the moment.
We´ve bought Club Tropicana style lilos, factor eight suntan lotion and are trying our best to tan our bodies and boobies...

Niece to meet you...

Cross country marathon...

When booking holidays, I´ve a tendancy to arrange much more than I am physically capable of doing. This trip is no exception...
Bo and I lugged our bags across London on what was widely tipped to be the hottest day of the year. Smashing.
Managed to get from South London to Holborn without collapsing (although almost crying) and handed our bags to Rob who locked them up with us so we could head to Devon without looking like pack horses.
Bags safely deposited, it was a quick whip around Tesco, and across to Paddington for our train to Exter. Although the punctuality can´t be faulted, passengers were only given three mins to board the train... I don´t think we found our seats until Reading. Anway...
Got to Devon, wandered off the train and there was Ruick with a baby on his arm. Hello Princess Charlotte.
Picked my sister up from her interview and negotiated country roads and landslides to get to their cottage in Merton.
Spent the 20 hours with Jen, Ru and Charlotte in baby heaven, before heading back to Exeter, on to Hoborn, across to Victoria, down to Gatwick and over to Alicante. Yesterday was a killer. But totally worth the travel for a cuddle with Little Lottie.

Saying G´day...

We´d both arranged to catch up with mates in London while over, but with only a small window of opportunity, Sunday was the day.
Hammersmith/Ravenscourt Park was the venue, and it was wonderful to catch up with so many familiar faces... and to part with the ridiculous amount of Caramello Koalas we´d dragged from Sydney.
No-one knew which way the day was going to go, but it was a Pimms and Lemonade afternoon - even Bo only managed two pints before switching to Diet Coke. Damn jetlag.
Highlight of the day had to be spotting some rather drunk-looking Morris Dancers...
Headed back to Lee around 7.30pm to another yummy Indian catered by Camille and Chris. Then it was hair washed, bags packed and onward with our adventure.

Bo's big day out in London

Let me start from the beginning. Are you all ready? I woke up to the sun shining and the birds churping and the smog gradually creeping through the non-existent skyline. I am staying in Lee, south east of london and with the loveliest people Rob and Chris.
The day has started at 6am and even though i am in London, that is the time I always get up. Oh if only i could sleep in. Poor claire has to put up with my chit chat in the mornings. Are you awake?
We are so raring to go that, we pop out at 9am and straight to Covent garden via pret a manger (YUMMO). I had the BLT and god that was good.
I know there may be people reading this that don't know me, but I love SHOPPING. So with my life savings i venture out to my favourite shops. I have bought a new watch, and OMG the best Miss Sixty jeans. (i had to buy 2 pairs). Wandered through London with the 5 day heat wave. yeah right it isn't that hot. The damn whinging poms.
Met Maria in Leicester Square for a few bevvies before the England v Portugal game. I won't tell you the result but i will say the pub emptied out as fast as i could say my name. Bo!!!!
London in the middle of summer doesn't get dark till 11pm. So it is a very long day for us little jet lagged kangaroos.
Sorry haven't finished what else we packed into this day.
We had a few drinks on the Tattersall Castle, which is a moored boat on the crystal clear thames water and great fews of the London eye and westminster. It is Pride weekend so there were alot of special characters around the city.
The english hooligans really got on well with them and probably shacked up with the red and whites and sequinned frocks.
Left the city for Blackheath and had a curry amd that was so nice and I am sure you won't recognise me when I get back. Coz Bo is going to eat herself STUPID!!!!!! bring on the lipo...yeah bo
Sleepy head now and wanting to go to bed, so on the bus home and in the door by 11pm and into PJs.
Goodnight, this little bear is pooped.
