Renovation rescue ...
Not much to report from me at the mo other than renovations to the house.
I had a nasty incident with a broken washer, a tap that wouldn't shut off (for FOUR HOURS) and a wrestle with a wrench in nothing but a towel.
Cost? $1500 for a brand new water system and eternal debt to Bo's big brother Steven for coming over on a Saturday night and fixing it all.
We then decided to finally get my hideous mirrored wardrobes ripped out. They were the worst you've ever seen - and I even lost friends over them!
Anyway, we opted for two identical plain white built-ins. Reasonably priced, we were assured it was a four-hour job.
Yes, probably, if the man hadn't been a complete perv who spent the entire Saturday being a sleaze.
He even offered to do the work in our laundry (next on the list) for 'just materials *wink*'
He then stuffed it up and said he to come back to finish the job on the Sunday and 'would my friend be out?'. And to add insult to injury he left the very large mirrored wardrobe doors in our garden during a storm, and they smashed - glass first- into a tree.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Anyway, the wardrobe was completed and he did an amazing job.
Tick.
And now we're just waiting for six new doors to be installed. We're getting all the main internal and external doors replaced - it's supposed to take two weeks but based on our experience with our security doors (took SIX MONTHS) to be installed, I'm not holding my breath ...
